HD TV Production

Well I think I am getting the hang of the blog thing. Have to test things first and see what turns up. I have added the link to my website that really shows just about everything I have been doing in the advertising world of late...but my real passion is TV production and voiceovers. After many years of producing TV commercials and complete shows for local and national TV, high definition TV is the way to go. It does require much more time in post production, but the clarity of the finish product is just unbelievable.

I set up my Sony HDV camera on a tripod, aimed it at the bird feeder (after I filled it with seed of course) and let it roll for an hour. The sun was in the right place and what a great piece of video...all types of birds coming in frame and not the least bit worried about my camera shooting their every move. I only had to wait about one minute after I walked away from camera for the action to begin. I will probably put some great music behind it and just let it post on YouTube. I'll keep you informed. Head over my site and take a look at the HD sample. There you can see the difference in screen size and clarity from what we watch now in Standard Definition and High Definition. More later on HD.

It's all in the right mix of advertising.

After about 40 years of experience with all types of advertising, I guess the phrase..."Are We There Yet?" ... fits perfect. I remember the first time I heard that phrase. It was after my first 3 hours shift on a radio station in Fall River, MA. The program director came into the studio and said...Are We There Yet? I didn't quite know what he meant at the time, but after a few years under my belt learning the ropes of being a "top forty deejay" I was able to see the light. Communication is a "we" product. If "we" don't get it...we'll never get there. If we really listen to how many "I's" (eyes) there are in our day to day communication ... I did great today, I told them exactly how I felt and so on ... we are really not communicating. When I realized that being a radio announcer isn't about how "I" sounded on the air but how I am communicating with each person that is listening to my show. Not connecting to the mass audience, but to that one person who is listening at any given time. The "We" factor. Once able to adopt this action to everything "we" do each day in work or play is how we "get there" where the "there" is where we all want to be.

Advertising is all about how "we" connect. Just think back a few years and a "blog" didn't even existing. But what an amazing this it is! In creating this new found pleasure for me, I visited some of my fellow bloggers and stumbled across an original "Hullabaloo" (I think that's how they spelled it) tv segment featuring The Animals. Eric looked about 16 year old, I remember playing that song over and over on radio stations across the USA. What a pleasurable flashback. A moment of pleasure to look back a time when I was busy prepare another super radio show for my audience.

Now advertising has a whole new medium: the blog. Add this to TV, radio, billboards, print, cable, bus backs ... I could go on and on so let's just say "etc". Get the right message with the mix of all these mediums to capture that single moment of pleasure for each person it touches then we can see the "there" right around the corner.
